Molly Boes
For Molly (Boes Ganza), music has always been an important part of her life. As a graduate of St. Olaf College, she majored in music with a biomedical studies concentration, and participated broadly in large ensembles and chamber groups playing bassoon. She earned her master’s degree in Creative Arts in Therapy from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Following the completion of her master’s thesis, Molly presented her research “Music Therapy as a Strength- Based Treatment for Adolescents with Chronic Medical Conditions and Depressive Symptoms” in a poster session at the National Music Therapy Conference in Cleveland, Ohio in November 2010.
Molly loves working with people, especially children, and believes in the power that music can bring. She feels strongly that music should be accessible to all, and that all people are musical. Molly completed the Music Together training in January 2011.
A passionate arts advocate, Molly is currently the Assistant Dean of Fine Arts Recruitment at St. Olaf College, where she is the go-to person for he college’s renowned music and fine arts programs, as she oversees the music major applications and fine arts scholarship program. Prior to her work at St. Olaf, Molly worked in arts administration at the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Lutheran Music Program.
In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, baking, and exploring new restaurants and bakeries in the Twin Cities.
