Jon

Jon DeVries has been involved in music for as long as he can remember. Growing up, he was involved in solo and group music in choirs, school band, and a high school garage band. He was in marching, pep, and concert bands in college and taught private lessons as a great fun way to eat and pay rent while a student.

While at college, he took music theory, performance and teaching courses to round out his musical background. Jon continues to perform with the U of MN alumni band in parades (including the Hollidazzle and Aquatennial), football tailgating, pep bands and fundraisers.

In addition, he loves to make music in the car, and the most joyful way is with his two boys everywhere they go! He thinks it’s awesome how his boys will spontaneously ask to play their guitar while he plays his. Family sing and dance-alongs are daily occurrences at home. His family has been participating in Music Together since their son was very young, and their second son has participated since before birth. Jon is excited to be able to introduce more families to the joy of making music together in class, in the car, at home, and everywhere in between.
